Try small snacks throughout the day -- crackers, creamy peanut butter (excellent for both calories and protein), creamy soups. You can cook almost any vegetables in some canned chicken broth and blend them. (I use a hand blender for this which avoids spilling stuff all over when I put it in the blender.)
Once you begin to find the foods you can get down and keep down, you can add new things to your basics.
