Hi Kath,

A barium enema is not the most pleasant test. It is quite intrusive. They placed a tube in your rectum and fill it with white stuff called "Barium". This highlights everything for them. It is an important test though, as it can show causes to your problems. Be prepared for a lot of discomfort, but know that if anything serious should happen, they can take the steps necessary.
