I am not an expert and don't even claim to be. But I know that if you have atotal bowel obstruction and it is not taken care of then it can cause your intestines to burst and that can kill you. Do you remember the movie Poltergeist from years ago. Well the little girl who said "They're here" she died from a total bowel obstruction. Hers ruptured or burst and it killed her. I don't know if she had adhesions but we know that the adhesions can wrap around the intestines and cause bowel obstructions. And there have been other ladies from this board who have had adhesions wrapped around their gallbladders, appendix, bladder, and many other organs. You can also have them in your chest. So I imagine it would depend on the severity of the adhesions and what organs it might involve. That is just my opinion and what I have read. I hope this helps. If I have gotten any of this info wrong, please forgive me. I do know the little girl died from the bowel obstruction and she was only around 12.

Love, Jenny
