Glad you will be going home soon! It is hard to be patient...after my lap I wanted to be well immediately. It has been close to five weeks for me now and only in the past week have I started to feel a significant difference for the better.
I too tried too be tough and not take the pain meds, because I wanted to see how things really felt...I was scared of covering up signs of what my body was doing with the drugs...but looking back at it, if I had known then what I do now (famous last words! <G>) I would have taken the harder pain meds a little longer. Why suffer?
Healing takes a tremendous amount of energy, physically and mentally. You will heal better if you are well rested. If you are taking your pain meds you will be able to rest better.
