Dear Lynda, I grew up on a dairy farm, and my father started a business also. At the age of eleven, I took over the cooking and at the age of 13 I took over all of the housekeeping under my mother's guidance of course. It's not bad to teach children how to work, but they do need some fun too. It seems like everyone nowdays wants their children to only have fun, but the value of disciplined work is incredible. However, it does take a high adult to child ratio. A single mom would have a harder time convincing the teenager anything. I think the father needs to be there for support. My parents were not mean to me, it just needed to be done, and I actually enjoyed it and took pride in my clean house. They also made sure I had time for church and school and school activities. Love and talk to you soon, Sally
