Hi Pam,
Interesting! I was offered Methadone right away following Vicodine annd
was told that it has been proven to work better than Morphine and stays
in the system longer. However, no one told me that when it came time to
go off the Methadone, it would be nearly impossible to get help. I was
referred to many pain clinics through my HMO and none would "take me
down". Only one doctor would do it and suggested that the best way is
through hospitalization but my health plan would not pay and so I suffer
every day with a little help from Clonidine and Vistaril given by my
primary doctor and unsupervised. Amazing!
