1. Du PenR Epidural Catheter:
Bard Access Systems recognizes the unique needs of the patient. That is why the Du Pen long-term epidural catheter was developed: to provide access for pain relief not obtainable through less conventional means of pain management.
The Du Pen epidural catheter is intended for long-term access to the epidural space for the delivery of preservative-free morphine sulfate to relieve intractable pain in cancer patients. The VitaCuffR Antimicrobial Cuff discourages bacterial migration at the exit site and the SureCuffR tissue in-growth cuff provides catheter fixation. Catheter markings every centimeter help verify catheter insertion depth.
2. Epidural Catheters:
Analgesic drugs and sometimes other drugs are delivered via an epidural catheter via a continuous infusion pump over a period of a few days. This is used for patients with intractable pain and sometimes for the terminally ill.
Service Aim:
Part of District Nursing Service which enables patients to live at home symptom free.
Where is service delivered?
In patients own home.
