Hi Clare

I have been using relaxation, breathing & visualisation as part of my pain therapy for years now, all self taught.  I explained it in one of my posts earlier this year and I have searched through the archives for you Lynda - My place and my visualisation technique so just click on the underlined link & it will bring the message up for you.  This one is about my beach, I find it the best one for me because growing up, I spent most weekends on a beach, and during school holidays, we visited my favourite...Bombo Beach in Kiama which is on the south coast of NSW.

I have some other exercises that I use to, and if you like I would be happy to post those for you as well.  I think you are very wise to wait & see, many of us found out the hard way that surgery after surgery isn't always the answer and CAN lead to more complications.  There are success stories, but not enough yet to say there is a definite way to stop adhesions from causing the pain & disruption in our lives that it does at the moment.  You really need to make sure that the surgeon who you are consulting with, understands & believes that adhesions DO cause pain, because the ones who don't are the ones who seem to do the most damage (not intentionally of-course, but purely through their disbelief).

I visited my GP today, and she feels that I am progressing and she felt my tummy today & said that yes it was still tender, but it has improved..... I have an appointment with a doctor in Sydney next month who is very interested in adhesions patients and runs a clinic specialising in endometriosis.  So I am not getting my hopes up, just looking forward to discussing it with him, and getting his opinion.

To make visualisation work for you Clare, you need to find a place that you love, and feel relaxed in....then just slowly put yourself into the picture, my description of my beach should help you work out the steps you will need to get to "your place"

Love & gentle warm hugs

Jo (Australia)
