Lesa,
Rice packs are very simple, you can make them any size you want too..
All you do is take a sock, best ones are white or light color and fill it with rice. Tie a knot in the sock and you are done.. If you don't like the smell of the rice you can add any oils,herbs to make it smell better. Heat no more than 3 mins or the rice can start to burn, you can adjust time to heat to what you like.
I also place mine in a pillow case which just adds an extra protection against heat burns.. Enjoy they are great I have small ones and big ones..

The rice packs sound like a wonderful idea! Please share how to make them....keep in mind I cannot sew, would velcro work?
