Hi Kimmi!

How's your day been? How're you feeling?

You know, despite the fact that I've had some pretty horrible pain today, I'm happy to report that I've had a pretty good day, my doctor's visit was good, and I left feeling much happier. I've been worrying about what my options were about pain relief - since I'm in a bit of a clinch with my Pain Specialist - over pain relief. He wants me to stop taking all forms of pain relief - when all I set out to do was to drop my methadone. Luckily my GP is of the opinion that I need a suitable pain medication, and he's happy with me using morphine - Dr Robinson knows me pretty well by now, he knows I don't bull-shit him about anything, and that I do not say that things are bad, and that I'm not coping as far as my pain is concerned, lightly. And he supports my rights to pain relief, plus he consults me before deciding which way he's going to go, where as my Pain Specialist expects me to do as he orders. Sometimes he can be quite understanding, even supportive, but just lately, it's like he doesn't give a stuff. Just says to me "Hang in there Kiddo!" Sometimes it would be nice to hear a note of compassion from those people from my hospitals Pain Clinic.

I really find it so hard to take so called well meant advice from people who've never had more pain then a mild headache, and who really don't have any clue as to what I go through, having pain day in day out.

And it's so nice to talk to people who also live with pain, day in day out.

Hope you're doing all right.

Look after yourself!

Linda (Lin to my friends)
