Welcome Lisa. If you don't mind my asking, where do you live? I
live in Clarkston and I also was very excited about getting an
appointment with Dr. Diamond. I know everyone has different
experiences with dr.s but let me tell you what I know of Dr.
Diamond, as it may help you. His specialty is fertility problems
and how adhesions may affect your getting pregnant. He is listed
with the AMA. I am 49 years old with a partial hystrectomy so
pregnacy is not a concern. My concern is strictly pain caused
by adhesions. My reg. ob/gyn had tried to do a lap, but just
backed out and closed me up because there were too many adhesions
to even view the ovaries or tubes that remain. She had suggested
seeing a specialist...hence, my appt with Dr. Diamond. He said
he would do nothing unless a life threatening blockage occured.
No surgery till then. He also said adhesions don't cause that much
pain. In fact as I was sitting on the exam table he said "You
don't look like you're in that much pain to me." I was very
disappointed when I left his office and I haven't gone back. My
advice to you would be to play up your pain and make sure he sees
it. Don't put on make-up and don't try to look good for your
visit. Maybe he was just having an off day? When is your appt?
Where is the pain clinic you are going to? I am also not happy
with my present pain management dr. I have an appt. at a new
place in Jan. Hope it is better. Please let me know how your
visit with Dr. Diamond goes. Good luck and pain-free hugs.
Cheryl
