Lisa, Clarkston is in between Detroit and Flint...north of Detroit on I-75. I wasn't trying to talk you out of your appt. with the Dr. I only wanted to give you my impression of him. He may work out perfectly for you. I sure hope so. Like you, my worst pain is also in the evenings. I sit on a heating pad to watch T.V. and I go to sleep with one. Most of the Dr.s I have been to either think adhesions don't cause pain or they don't know enough about them to really have an opinion. I have an ovarian cyst and my ob/gyn discovered massive adhesions and said to find someone else to handle them. My GP gave me hydrocodone for pain and recommended a pain specialist take his place, as there was nothing he could do to treat them. The pain specialist gives me oxycontin for pain now. I have been to different surgeons and none of them will do surgery as a treatment for pain. This is actually a good thing. When you read all the stories on our adhesion quilt you begin to see that we are a unique group. For the most part surgery hasn't helped anyone and everyones common complaint is pain. Most Dr.s only deal with short term pain. Not the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly type of pain. They don't have a clue. That was a strange thing about the tapes. I didn't get them until after my visit. The only thing to do now is to try to get it under control as best as can be and still have a life. Good Luck to you and I hope it goes well for you. Let me know...Cheryl
