Dear Cheryl,

I should have explained ovarian vein embolization a little better....they do not "go in". It is performed in the X-Ray Department on an X-Ray table that tilts so that they can see the blood flow in whatever direction they want. A minuscule incision is made just large enough for a tiny catheter to go in near your groin. That is as invasive as it gets. Oh, almost forgot...you are given IV drugs for the pain. I've had two venograms which is just like the procedure I described and, didn't feel a thing only being tickled when they shaved me a little.
