Hi Debbie, and welcome.

First off, before you agree to let the doctor do a hysterectomy, read through some of the messages on the archives. Unless there is a medical reason to have a hyst done, it will not reduce the risk of new adhesions, and in many cases, an elective hysterectomy was the cause of the formation of adhesions.

Having adhesions is not a reason to have a hysterectomy done. I am not a medical professional, I am basing this solely on what I have read on this board over the past two years. Allowing your doctor to remove your reproductive organs just to take down adhesions is just causing more trauma to the internal organs and giving you a larger opportunity to develop more adhesions and endure more pain.

Please remember, this is just my personal opinion. Please discuss it with your doctor, and read, read, read, before you allow them to do this.

Gentle pain-free hugs.
