Dear Gwen,
I am sorry to report that at least some of them will more than likely
return. I went to Germany nov 2000 and had surgery with a specialist,
Dr Korell. My first surgery I was covered with adhesions. A gell
barrier was used then. A week later, he did a 2nd look lap and I had
50% reformation. I came home knowing I would have 15-30% reformation. I
had surgery again locally Aug 2001. The surgeon then said that my
surgeries in Germany did me a lot of good because I didn't have many
adhesions. There were still adhesions on my bladder, my intestines &
the wall of my abdomin. At that time, every thing was wrapped in the
barrier Seprafilm. After the last several surgeries I have started
having pain again after about 4 months. I have started fund raisers and
have contacted my insurance co about a return trip to Germany. I feel
if I can have a few more surgeries with Dr Korell, that I have a very
good chance of becoming adhesion free. Please do NOT give up hope.
There is always hope and you are not alone.
