I just wanted to let you all know that I am back. I don't remember when I wrote last, but I will update you as to what has transpired in the last ten days. A week ago this past Monday I awoke to severe left sided pain and pelvic pressure....something that I don't recall ever experiencing. I knew it was different so I made an appointment to see my doctor. He immediately told me it was diverticulitis. I assumed that since I had undergone a scope the week before it had shown up there. He added Lortab 500 to my MS Contin. He was very sympathetic to my pain. On Thursday my daughter and her girls and I traveled down to Chicago for the Easter weekend. Saturday we went to the zoo and were having a wonderful time when I began to get these slamming pains on the left side of my back. They continued over and over. I took my pain meds and went to bed. On Sunday I woke up to having these same pains on my right side. On Monday they were still mostly on the right, but some on the left as well. I decided to try and contact my doctors from Chicago and got an appointment right away. I underwent a CT scan that showed kidney stones in both kidneys, a ureter that was enlarged and partially obstructed due to another kidney stone, hydronephrosis (reflux of urine back into kidneys) and a cyst on my right kidney. I was admitted to the hospital. They were able to break up the stone that was in my ureter. But the entire time I was in the hospital my blood pressure went up. It was normal when I was admitted, but despite receiving my meds it continued to rise. I am home now...but must find a urologist around here...and no I won't go to the ones here in town who are part of the "adhesions don't cause pain or bladder problems" belief. I have got to do something. The one good thing is that I haven't had any more of the vomiting every couple of days.
