Re: Possible adhesions!

I think that the second doctor is right on target. Pelvic pain can have
all different causes, and diagnosis of adhesions should only come after
everything else gets ruled out. And the point is that any surgery for
any reason -- diagnosis, removing adhesions, or an emergency surgery to
cut adhesions strangulating your intestines, for example, WILL cause
more adhesions to form. There are a couple (a very few) world-class
laporoscopic surgeons on the planet who have a reasonably good success
in at least not making things worse. One is in Germany, and he has
started using a new adhesion prevention product called spray-gel that is
just starting clinical trials in the US, and then there is a practice in
Scranton PA and New York -- they have a web site, http://www.adlap.com ,
and then sometimes people say that there is a good doctor in the
Northwest, Dr. Redwine. But other than that, stay away from docs who
just think that adhesions are no big deal and don't cause pain...
