I went in to the GYN for my yearly physical/pap. Since my mother had breast cancer, my grandmother had cancer of her female organs, and both my daughter and grandfather had brain tumors/cancer, I was told this procedure would be good for checking for ovarian cancer. I was told lator by my Family Med. doctor that that procedure is usually for child bearing age women who are having problems getting pregnant. He felt I shouldn't have had it. Anyway, it is an internal sonogram-type procedure where they explore. A probe in introduced and pictures are veiwed a a TV screen. Next, a catheter with saline (balloon on tip) is introduced and the saline is sprayed inside. Then the probe is placed inside a second time. All I know is the moment the saline hit me I was on fire. I haven't been normal since.
