Dear Pam,
I had my Hysterectomy done abdominally, i begged for them to do it vaginally..i was so scared of having my belly cut open...like that..and the Drs couldnt do it vaginally because i had some huge fibroids.. After the Hysterectomy i have only had about 6 or 7 weeks total..without this devil pain from adhesions..even after the surgery to cut the adhesions..and thats been since Oct of 2000...so if i had the option again i would certainly opt for a vaginal hysterectomy.
I would say to just research the pros and cons of each side of it and then make an educated decision..But if your Dr says you can have it done vaginally then in my opinion that would be the way to go....and certainly discuss the options and the pros and cons of each side with your Drs..and ask them about adhesions and such too..
