Dear Pam,

I don't quite know where or how to start answering your question.....I am biased because I am on the other side of that procedure, so my opinion is tainted because of that, as you will find with most of us here who have been through the procedure......

Pam, you need to read all the stories on the quilt, what you are asking us to do is hard......only you can make the final decision about what you choose to do.

Ask yourself questions like why do I need this hysterectomy? How will it improve my present condition? What are the odds that I will suffer from more scar tissue or adhesions from this procedure, will the pain from the possible adhesions be worse than what I am living with now? ..... think of it from every angle you can..... then ask your surgeon plenty of questions and ask his success rate etc...... Don't be intimidated, and come back and ask us more questions if you need to.

Visit my aussie adhesions support group site too, I had my hyster in 2000 & my story can be found there.....plus some useful info on how to cope....for both you and your family.
