I agree with researching WHY the need for organ removal. It sure has caused me more problems than I care to mention. I have two c-sections (one with a tubal ligation), 2 laparoscopies but it was not until the hysterectomy and oopherectomy that I started having bowel obstructions and pain from adhesions. It is a scary way to live making me think twice about ever leaving town for vacation, hosting a party, eating foods I love and even relations with my hubby. There are alterantives to hysto for a lot of conditions. I would also think if doc says vaginal is possible, it would be best for healing and adhesion formation. BUT, something tells me personally that the fact that my uterus is NOT there (regardless of how it was removed)causes problems in itself. There is just so much floating around and more space to adhesions to occupy. I have always had adhesions with my endometriosis but NEVER have they effected my life like since my hysto.
