Joey - Doggy Boom poem

How's this:

It was a bright summer day, sun shining, a nice light breeze, when I headed for my garden to play.

Opened the door, stepped out, started slowly down the stoop, two happy silly dogs capering about.

Pushing, shoving them away, shouting down, go on, off they bounded, but didn't stay,

One foot reaching for the deck, the other on the last step, when back came George...oh, heck!

Twisting, turning, down I went, my head one way, the rest another, I didn't think my parts could get that bent.

Laying there between deck and stoop, dogs licking my face, snuffling my neck, feeling like such a silly dupe.

Struggling up, with the help of a broom, laughing not helping the matter, as I thought of doing the doggy boom!

All those stories of Chrissie's, now I have this story to tell, maybe she and I are really sissies!
