I get bowel obstructions on a regular basis due to scarring in the intestine. I know I have one when I start vomiting anything including water. Then the pain starts about 2 hours later. It is a sharp pain that doesn't travel. Depending on where in the intestines the obstruction is, the pain can be the first symptom followed by vomiting. They can pass on their own but some require surgery. Some of mine have shown up on a simple X-ray and some don't even show up on CAT scans. If the pain gets unbearable you might consider going to ER. Good luck and I'll say a prayer it's not an obstruction. Debby
