I just had surgery with SprayGel

Hello -

I don't know if anyone remembers me, my name is Libby and I posted a few times last year when I had my first surgery for adhesions. Well, it's a year later and last Friday I went in for a second surgery because the adhesions were back. It took 4 months to convince my surgeon, but he finally agreed to scope me again.

Once again, my appendix was involved, attached to the sidewall, as well as a number of other adhesions which he lysed (not sure where, haven't gotten post-op info yet). This time he removed my appendix as well.

The difference this time is he used SprayGel. I just wanted to let people know it's here, though I'm not positive if it's still in the trial stages with the FDA. My surgeon is an endoscopic specialist in Seattle, WA, and he seems very up to date on adhesion prevention, and was excited to be able to use it on me.

It's only been 5 days since surgery, but my recovery so far has been good. I'll post again later and let you know how things go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will at least reduce my pain, if not eliminate it. I'm hoping this will offer an option for relief for all of us out there who suffer from this terrible disease.
