Jennifer, I have to say that your post about the ER brought back one of those funny-later memories. (Funny WAY WAY later LOL!)

I had been married about a year and a half when I woke up one morning with diarrhia. Which got worse and worse. And then vomitting. After a couple of hours of my moaning and it coming out both ends, my husband tried to take my temp, and for some reason he couldn't get it to register. So he bundled me off to the ER. They gave me 2 bags of IV fluids, too. Is phenegren a green pill? They gave me 2 different pills, but after I got home I still threw up a few more times. Also learned a really important lesson -- if your bathroom has only one toilet, and you've got it coming out both ends, you sit on the toilet and puke into the wastebasket! My husband is clearly a saint, because we are still married after this incident, HAHAHAHA! I would have sealed the clothes in a plastic bag and trashed them, but he washed them and got them clean! Anyway, they gave me a pill that was yellow and one that was green. I don't remember the names, but my mother-in-law said that they were really good anti-nausea drugs. To which I said, "Uh-huh." Well when I threw them back up it would this really freaky flourescent green color because of the pills. I wasn't sure if "anti-nausea" meant that they were supposed to keep you from throwing up, or maybe just give you the entertainment value of the psychidelic color!

But man, I could really relate to the lovely peaceful passed-out-in-the-ER part of your story. That was me, too! The nurse got the IV in on the first try, which was basically a miracle. I have really lousy veins under the best of circumstances, and dehydration sure doesn't help that. But it took 3 tries to take the blood sample that they needed for testing. My husband was pretty upset with this, but I was so WAY beyond caring!
