Dear Karla,

I am glad the local hospital is getting the equipment in to do your procedures, I know how much it takes out of you to travel back & forth all the time.

I go to Sydney yet again tomorrow to see my bowel specialist and get the results of all the yukky tests I have had over the last few weeks. I do know that the Colon Transit Study one has come back abnormal, but that's all I know until tomorrow.

About the SprayGel allergy situation, yes I do remember Mary being highly allergic, because I am too and that is the main reason I had resisted the idea if using barriers for previous surgeries. You may or may not remember chatting with me about this.

When the Australian Distributers of SprayGel first contacted me I said that I wasn't lining up to have it just yet because of my allergy concerns.... I was travelling to Sydney later that week and she invited Shane & I to dinner.

It was a very informative evening and Julie went to great lengths to let me know that there could be no possibilities of an allergic reaction because of the ingredients used to make the gel. The only one that COULD cause some sensitivity was the ethylene blue (spelling?) and she said that due to the number of surgeries I had previously had, I was sure to know if I was indeed allergic to that substance. I am not and I did not have any problems with allergic reaction or infection after my August surgery and application of SprayGel. In fact it was the best recovery I have ever had after surgery & it was five and a half hours long and Jason said it was a very labour intensive surgery for him. I am a bleeder and he said it was literally cut bleed, stop the bleeding, cut, bleed, stop the bleeding and so on.

There is NO SIGN of return of adhesions. The problems we are dealing with now are those that had been masked possibly since my hysterectomy while some from my recent car accident. That is why those who are thinking about travelling great distances should remember that Adhesions can cause damage to our organs, and no-one can guarantee that surgery & application of SprayGel will be the answer.... it isn't a miracle cure.... how successful it is will depend on what damage has been done to your internal organs, nerves etc in previous surgeries and from the adhesions themselves.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon Karla, love & warm gentle hugs, Jo
