Hello April,
Gosh, your story sounds very familiar. I, too, have problems eating and my
stomach always hurts worse after I do. Sometimes the pain just shoots thru
me like a knife and sometimes it feels like my insides are tearing apart. I
have suspected adhesions, but it feels different than before I had my last
surgery on August 2, 2002. I didn't have a qualified specialist, but I was
hurting so bad that I let my gyno and a general surgeon try to "fix" me. I
talked to a surgeon here in Boise that has an excellent reputation and he
told me that very likely the last surgery made it worse. He won't even
touch me unless I have an obstruction again. That was the worst pain ever!
I am glad that you are going to Germany for your surgery. I will be very
anxious to find out what the doctors find out and if they can take away your
pain. I hope so. When even one lady out there gets help, it gives us all
new hope for our futures also. I am personally waiting for the spray-gel to
come to the U.S. I'm getting married in June and I am trying so hard to get
into shape so when we go to Mexico after for our Honeymoon I'll look really
good. But I think the exercising is making me hurt worse. About four years
ago I also had to stop exercizing because of the pain. That was when I
first found out that I had adhesions. I thought I had torn my spline or
something. (smile)
Well, thank you for all of your advise. You have been most helpful and I
appreciate your courage to go to another country to better yourself and let
us out here in "cyberland" know how the outcome is.
