Teri welcome and sorry to hear of your ordeal. I am going through the same thing right now but, have not gone to the dr's since I am not prepared for another surgery. Don't trust the ER doc you did the right thing by taking your x-ray to a gastro prof. I was sent home once with a total blockage and not until the next day when my surg. looked at the x-ray and called me to come to the hosp for admisssion did I know. It is hell and back again when you can't eat and if you do you either throw up or go right through. (it is a crappy weight loss program)

I would not wait though I would call the gastro dr, if he hasn't called you Also did a radiologist look at the films? Seems odd that they would miss it. I hope things get better for you soon, prayers and God Bless Teri <teri.pope@idf.centerpartners.com> wrote:I am new to this board and not quite sure how it works. I am 21 years old and have been having problems with Endometriosis and Adhesions for the last 4 years. I have had 7 surgeries for these problems. 5 Laproscopies, 1 Laporatomy, 1 Total Abdominal Hysterecomy where my ovaries were removed. My endo has returned since my hyst and I have had adhesions since then as well. The first problem I have had with adhesions was this spring and it was causing problems with my bowels. Well now my symptoms are as follows. It started that I just couldnt eat anymore. I was in almost constant terrible pain. I went several weeks at a time where I just couldnt eat. I could drink but if I ate I would either throw it up or it would go straight through me. My GYN trying to avoid another surgery sent me to a pain management doctor and I was put on Neurontin which almost immeditatly helped my pain and also helped me be able to eat and also seemed to help with my bowels. I have been on the Neurontin for several months now. Well 4 weeks ago my bowels just seemed to decide to stop. They did nothing for a week. I took a laxitive and I had a bowel movement then vomitted. I decided not to do that again and my bowels with 2 weeks and did nothing. I didnt even feel like I had to go. I got very swollen and contacted my GYN and told him about it. He told me to take Milk of magnesia to get my bowels moving and then take a laxitive to keep them moving. I couldnt keep the Milk of Mag. Down long enough for it to work nor could I the laxitive. After 2 and a half weeks I went to the ER because the pain was just unbareable. They did an x-ray and said I didnt have a blockage. I looked at the x-ray and it just didnt look right. I only have experience looking at veterinary x-rays but Ive seen blockages on x-rays before and mine looked exactly like that. With my history of adhesions and endo and having them cause problems with my bowels before I cant help but think that maybe thats what is happening now. I took my x-rays from the hospital and took them over to a intestinal specialist (gastro something) and am waiting for his opinion. I am trying to find out what everyone on here thinks. Please let me know. Thank you.
