Hi Karen, just wanted to say hi, haven't talked to you in a while. I am sorry you are in pain again. I will be thinking of you during your testing. I had to write and respond to your message, because I have the exact
same thing
going on with me right now. I also had my gall bladder removed almost 2
yrs ago and recently started having pain in the same area. I saw my GI
Doctor today and after having an ultrasound and x-rays last week, it
showed my bile duct opening was too large, 6mm to be exact. It should
be 3-4 mm for my age, of 45, that is! A person older than that can have
a larger opening generally, from what I was told. Anyhow, on Monday I
am having a colonoscopy to rule out ulcers or anything else first. On
Tues, Jan 14, I am having an ERCP; they look down into your bile duct,
pancreas, liver..etc and see exactly what is going on. the pain is
exactly the same as when I had my gall bladder attacks. have you ever
heard of "sphincter of oddi" this could possibly be the cause also.
Please go to the archives here and type that in, you can find lots of
information here. Please let us know how you are doing!

Feel free to write if you wish,
Karen Carter
