surgery in Germany -- an important if off-topic note...

If anyone in Germany travels to Zurich on the train (a pleasant trip
from Frankfurt), then an absolute must-do is to visit a Sprungli
chocolate shop in Zurich. There are 2 of them in the train station --
one upstairs and one down, and a couple down the Bonhofstrasse, too. (It
is a chain.) The absolute best chocolate in the entire world is the dark
chocolate truffles du jour. They make these chocolates every day, and
most of the time the shop is out of them by about 2 or 3 in the
afternoon. They only sell them the one day that they make them, and on
occasion one of the shops will find that they don't sell all of the ones
they had for the day. If they still have a bunch left by about 4
o'clock in the afternoon they will sometimes put them out for samples --
and there is only one thing better than the best chocolate in the world,
and that is the best chocolate in the world FOR FREE!!! So it is
worthwhile if you are touristing in Zurich to duck into every Sprungli
that you come upon just to see if they are giving away anything yummy!
My hubby lived in Switzerland for 2 years before we got married, and the
truffles were like $20/pound back then, and are probably more today. But
you can just buy one or two per person and they work out to a couple of
dollars apiece. Then go sit down somewhere, and take small bites and
just let it sit in your mouth. The chocolate goes straight to the
pleasure centers of the brain, so it's best to be sitting down...
