First of all, I can say that I have had the same problems with my teeth in the past. However, it has never happened since I have been on the morphine. Are you on other drugs? I had the problem when I was placed on epileptic seizure medication....many of which are also used for pain and are known to have this side effect.
I am also familiar with the pain blocks and will only tell you that I will NEVER undergo another pain block in my life. But, every person is different and reacts to different treatments in different ways. Just weigh your decisions carefully. Besides....if you have to have a colostomy...its something that you can learn to live with...not necessarily something that you want to though. I never wanted a urostomy...but it certainly isn't killing me.
