New to board/adhesions (long) with ??'s about TTC

Brief history: After several years of unexplained abdominal pain and a few years of infertility, the last year symptoms increased to the point that it was disrupting my life. About 3 months ago, my GYN surmised that I had endometriosis. About a month after that, my pain became more severe and persistent, as I was concurrently seeking a specialist for endo (didn't trust that my GYN could adequately treat).

So, found an RE at Hopkins, and he performed lap on 7-3. NO endometriosis was found, just a belly full of adhesions (pics of surgery are on my website if anyone is interested: home.earthlink.net/~jjmail).

Possible causes: acute appendicitis and emergency appendectomy 20 years ago in which my appendix burst as they were taking me into the OR. Also, a bacterial infection 18 years ago that was so bad it wouldn't respond to antibiotics, and my GYN performed a D&C to scrape my uterus, because he theorized that the bacteria were feeding on the endometrial wall--I figure it was that bad, it could have spread into my tubes and also caused adhesions.

Both tubes were sealed shut by adhesions, and one had twisted back on itself. Dr. was able to open both up during surgery, and I believe he used Interceed as a barrier. (haven't spoken with my doc since surgery as he had death in family and had to fly to greece afternoon of my surgery--will see him Monday 7-21 and make sure barrier was used).

I am 33, and hubby and I would like to have children. So most of my questions right now have to do with TTC.

What is my best course of action from here? If HSG shows that my tubes are again blocked, would additional surgery help? Is IVF a better option rather than more surgery? If I do get pregnant and have formed new adhesions, will the stretching of my uterus cause more adhesion pain? Does anyone have any experience witht the clear passage massage technique for fertility?

Would love to hear from anyone who has TTC or conceived after adhesions were found.

Thanks,

Jenn
