Ilanthe, I am not exactly sure what their thinking is with the massage therapy. I went to them last year and they did what they called myofascial release therapy. That was supposed to break the adhesions away from whatever they had attatched to. It didn't work. This seems to be pretty much the same thing to me, except it is more aggressive massage. My pain management Dr. requested I go back again, as this is supposed to be the "latest and greatest" therapy. Since my insurance pays and I am on SSI, I feel I should try anything (almost) that he recommends. I am going 3 times this week and I will ask the therapist.
