I would seriously advise you to get a second opinion from another GI
doctor. This doctor doesn't seem to be explaining what's going on which
is not in your best interest. When I had my first colonoscopy, I was
diagnosed with a redundant sigmoid colon. That means that there is
another loop of colon in the lower left portion of my colon that most
people do not have. It's not dangerous, and many people have it. People
who have a redundant colon tend to get more constipated and build up
more gas than others. Other than that, there are no typical problems. I
was told to take Equalactin or Citrucil to keep things moving and that
there would be no other complications. Your doctor should explain what
a redundant colon is and where yours is located. However, it sounds as
it the complications are created by the adhesions.
