Dear Bell...I am NOT a dr. and I don't play one on TV.. but I have suffered
with adhesions for 28 yrs!.
I just had the most recent adhesion removal lapro one yr ago... and I was
going to have a coloscopy .. just to have base lines for everything since I
turned 50 this yr. after the lap, the surgeon's report was explaining how
there was such a mass of adhesions in the small and large intestines, that
she seldom would recommend someone NOT to undergo a coloscopy, especially if
it runs in the family, but in my case she was emphatic as there is a thick
band of adhesions kinking the colon and adherred to the liver.. reason she
said not to have one was the possibility of puncturing through the colon
wall trying to get passed the bans of adhesions.
this is just a "for what it's worth." I opted to not have one schelduled
until/unless I feel that might be a problem.
