What about the endometriosis? Did they find any endometriosis? Because endo can cause scarring like that. The endo could have been hiding under the scar tissue and if the doctor didn't remove it, it will keep on growing. A lot of doctors don't even recognize endometriosis when they see it. When I went in for my first surgery for endo my scarring sounds very much like yours. I had so much scarring that the doctor couldn't find my organs. Feel free to write to me personally if you would like some websites on finding a good endometriosis specialist or just to talk.
