adhesions caused by barium deposited into vagina

Hi all - new here. Looking for a way to help my close friend. Barium
was mistakenly deposited into peritonium thru vagina. Surgery to wrap
organs to relive formation of adhesions. Still lots of pain. Where to
look for long term effects and/or relief. Anyone heard of this before?
Any info helpful! Thanks for reading!
