Constipation and Adhesions

I have had a history with adhesions since I was
17 and had my first abdominal surgery. I am now
37 and I can manage with pain but it's the constipation
and dependancy on laxatives that I can't handle.
My metabolism is nill due to lazy bowels from
lazatives. Is there anyone out there who has
found a diet that eases constipation and helps
with weight loss? Or better yet - is there anyone
out there who has had a successfull surgery using
any of the "barrier" products. Or has anyone
gone to another country and had success? There
was a website for some surgery center in Germany
but I can't find it again. Any help will be
appreciated. If I can help . . .Thanks!
