my mother recently had surgery to correct twisted intestines. the surgeon's also removed some adhesions. they thought the problem was caused by a surgery 30 years ago! since the surgery she has not been able to eat anything without throwing up or drink much (couple of sips of water, then she vomits). the docs will pump her stomach (nothing but dark green fluid) then she'll feel better, but a couple of days later (or the next day), she'll throw up again. can adhesions cause a blockage in her stomach/intestines so she is unable to eat or drink? how long will this last? what can be done to fix it? naturally, i'm scared to death for her.

SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ENCOURAGING NEWS! thanks for your answers.
