I had scar revision surgery on my lower
spine last November due to other complications .
Apparently, the surgeons who operated on me used
a liquid type gel instead of sutures to close
the superficial layers of skin. Several months
later, a thick keloid scar formed on my back
which caused extreme pain, pulling and resticted
movement. I finally found a plastic surgeon who
successful removed the lesion and now I am quite
relieved and pain free. When you have surgery,
it would be adviseable to ask your surgeon about
skin closure and adhesion prevention.
Even in the best of situations you can't
always think your surgeon is doing the right
thing!
