surgery?

I have been in pain for 5 years, from adhesions and endo. This was confirmed by an emergency appendectomy and bowel resection in April 2003. Pain continued, had right ovary and tube, endo removal, and adhesion removal in March of 2004.

Ovary and tube were completely wrapped up in adhesions and endo and was attached to pelvic wall. I felt great for about two weeks, then the old familiar right sided pain came back. It starts in my right side goes around to my back and down right leg, getting worse lately, all the way down to my ankle at times.

Also have had a large cyst come and go on remaining ovary, and I am starting to feel pain in that area also. Have multiple small fibroids too. My surgeon has offered to do a diagnostic lap, but I am afraid of more adhesions resulting from it. I am tempted to try one more time, my insurance company will probably want confirmation before I can consult a pain specialist. Currently I am taking elavil, hydrocodone.

My history is an endo ablation and polyp resection in August 2000, appendectomy and bowel resection in April 2003, removal of right ovary in March 2004.

Should I go for one more lap? I need to make a decision soon. I am so tired of hurting all the time, nights are the worst, it's hard to ignore the pain. Thanks in adavance for any advice. Nancy
