I'm 24 and have had multiple small bowel
obstructions. They started about six months
after i had surgery to remove my appendix...
and havent stopped since. Within the last
two and a half years have had three partial
obstructions in which i was hospitalized with
an NG tube for a week and were able to
decompress my bowel enough to clear up the
obstructions.
Two other times i have had to have surgery,
exploratory laparotomy once and laproscopic
surgery the other because my bowel was
starting to get ischemic....this is not even
mentioning the fact that i get extreme pain
and vomiting at least once a month from what
they tell me are probably partial obstructions
that clear themselves up.
I dont want this quality of life.. I am an
RN and go to a well known hospital with great
surgerons, have seen many GI docs and nobody
seems to have any clue. They all tell me i
dont have a lot of adhesions and they 'might'
not come back this time... but they all
ways do. Any ideas... i need advice please.
