Hi Kim, I don't know what area you live but you'll find pain specialists are a breed of their own. Who gave your pain meds before? They require a patient to submit to a urine test to check for any illegal drugs. If you go to one that is also an Anesthesiologist, they can do trigger shots that sometimes give long lasting relief without the need for pain meds. It's important to stretch and massage the area to loosen the tightness. I found that physical therapy which included massaging, with a moist heat pad placed on afterwards felt good. Medication(s) affect each person differently. We all have to find whatever works best for us. If you don't have a Bed Buddy (moist heat pad) you'll find it really helps ease pain or at least it does for me. Be careful not to burn yourself. My entire abdominal skin is numb and I don't have any feeling, so I gave myself a 2nd degree burn.

You may want to read individuals bios on the Adhesions Quilt.

I've had surgery with Dr. Redan twice and sorry to say, the adhesions returned with a vengeance. The last surgery he removed my navel and now my abdomen looks strange. Hopefully, the new SprayGel/SprayShield will be approved by FDA and Dr. Redan will be able to use it on his patients. It's suppose to prevent adhesions from returning; however, there are many on this site who have said their adhesions returned even after its use.

We're hoping to get our story heard by the big media.

Take care and God Bless.

Hi, I am new to the message board. I have had nine surgeries. Several for endometriosis and a hysterectomy. I just had one in Dec. to remove pelvic and abdominal adhesions. The doctor went in a took down some adhesions but not all of them. He said they were to dense and he could not make out the bowel so he did not want to accidentally cut into it. SO now pain is worse than before surgery. I have done physical therapy, taken pain meds and had myofacial release done. The adhesions always come back. The doctor I just went to is sending me to a pain clinic tomorrow. I have never been to one before and am a little nervous. If there is anyone who can tell me about there experiences with a pain clinic I would appreciate it.

I am sending my records to Dr. Semertizides to see if he can help me. I did send my records to Dr Redan in Florida and he said he would not touch me for 6 months after my surgery. Do all doctors have that policy?

I am really happy I found this website. It helps me to know other people are dealing with this and know how I feel.
