Hi Katie, I am a smoker. I have never been told anything about the results of smoking, and adhesions. In Germany at the Emma Klinik they even had a smoking room in the Hospital. Although as with any surgeries, smoking does effect the healing process. I don't drink. I used to, but since I am on meds, you don't mix the meds, and alcohol. I had gotten to the point that I was in so much pain, so depressed, and stressed trying to work and deal with everything, that I would drink almost every night for about 6 months. I could Not Cope! I know better especially in a family of alcoholics that it was not a smart move! Once I got put on meds, I quit. I wish it was as easy to quit smoking. My husband smokes too. Quitting together is pretty tough. Especially when my husband is a practical joker! At 50 I need to, I just use any stressful situation as an excuse to not quit. I do know better! Cheryl D.
