My previous specialist told me that there is very little research to substantiate that injections and pain pumps help for abdominal and/or pelvic pain. I've been to one of the best on the east coast- UNC Chapel Hill and was told that by him and my specialist at home. My pain doc retired and had to get a new doc, what's the first thing he recommended? Injections! I said no thanks at this time and just try my best to manage on meds, rest, etc. Not much of a life though. But, with that said, what works for some nay not work for others and vice versa, I just wasn't ready to let them go sticking more needles in me without some basis I suppose of any proof to back up it's gonna help. Been through way too much for that, but who knows maybe someday I'll get desperate enough to try it. Just my two cents...
