Yes, a pcp can order any test, he is an MD, although he might not want to order some tests without consulting with a specialist you are seeing. I don't think its unreasonable to want to have your large intestine checked. When they checked for crohn's with the small intestine I'm wondering why they didn't check the large. As you know, crohn's can affect either small or large intestine. I would think that with your family history they would have checked all possibilities for this disease! That would confuse me!
