Before I ask my questions, I want to tell you I have been searching through your postings initially looking for problems similar to mine - and I was taken aback by the care and sincerity you have towards each other. What a wonderful group of people.

First, I'm not even sure if I have adhesions, it was suggested to me Friday by an ER Dr. I'm off work today recovering and thought I'd research a bit and found your forum. I'll try to keep my story short.

May 1992 Cervical Cancer, radical hysterectomy followed by 8 weeks radiation. All OK now. January 1993 First attack of severe upper abdominal cramps. Since then regular "attacks" with the addition of sometimes violent vomiting. Upper abdominal cramps start then increase in frequency and strength over the course of 2-5 hours, then vomiting every couple of hours until there is nothing left - then usually one more for good measure. After the vomiting stops the cramps ease up slowly over the next couple of days. Frequency of the attacks vary from monthly, to every 2-3 months - the longest I've gone without an attack is 5 months. They always happen suddenly, without warning. Occasionally, I am over it and well enough to return to work the next day - other times (like this one) it takes days to come back.

I have had: endoscopy (2), colonoscopy, ultrasound and hydascan (to eliminate gall bladder) X-rays, and blood tests, CT scan (but more to follow-up cervical ca). All negative, all Drs. say nothing is wrong.

My questions are: Does this sound like adhesions?? Would they be caused by the hysterectomy? or the radiation? Alternatives to surgery? Herbal remedies? Acupuncture?

Thanks to you all for listening (reading). Pat
