Hello everyone. I had a bad week, was admitted into hospital Tuesday night and released on Sunday. I had a lot of pain, nausea, swelling and tenderness in abdomen. Had x-rays, cat scan, ultrasound and scan of gall bladder function. When I was first admitted, my surgeon told me it sounded like adhesions, but he called in a GI specialist. The first thing the GI specialist said after going over my history was that it sounded like adhesions also. The tests were run to rule out other problems. All the tests came back ok. The only thing that showed was an elavated white blood count, which I was told meant inflamation. I was treated for a partial bowel obstruction/adhesions on bowel and/or intestines. I could not eat or drink, my nourishment came from the IV, and I was injected with pain medicine and med for nausea. I was slowly introduced to liquids and soft foods, and the worst seems to be over for now. This has happened at a bad time. Our house is up for sale and I have a million things to do. I just don't have the strength to do much. I'm sure everyday will get better. I want to read the posts and catch up with everyone. Glad to be back...Sherry
