I suppose it is a bowel obstruction, but I don't really have problems with BM's. I don't understand what triggers it. The timeframe is almost like having a monthly period. I am really exhausted after it happens and my stomach feels like it got beat up. My gynecologist initially said he didn't think it was adhesions because I didn't start this until 4-5 months after my hysterectomy; he said adhesion problems usually start right after surgery. My family doctor is really sympathetic but also frustrated because he doesn't have any solution other than medication.
