Re: Severe back pain after surgery?

Hi Theresa, Thanks for the offer. Not sure, I am not a phone person, LOL Mine aren't from back surgery, have never had my back touched surgically. But my PT now wonders if somehow I don't have adhesions interfering with my spine somehow. He doesn't know much about adhesions, so I think he's just guessing. I posted my question to see if anyone else had experienced this after a simple LAVH hysterectomy or BSO?

My PT told me yesterday the reason I literally tore a muscle the other night, is because my muscles are atrophied from the long recovery afer 2 surgeries so close together. I literally ripped one of the large muscles of the back, doing nothing out of the ordinary! And there doesn't seem to be much I can do to prevent it other than slow gentle exercise to strengthen the back muscles again.

I'm going to a chiro today to get an xray and see if he can SEE any explanation for this constant back & neck pain. When I told my PT that I didn't think what he was doing was helping me or successful, he said not to think of it that way. I do have some small improvements and it's a long slow process. Don't know if he's just saying that or if it's true. It shouldn't take months to heal pulled muscles (which I think happened during the surgery from the position they put me in), or to strengthen weak ones. Does it??? Gina
